These committees are required by the Discipline. Election occurs at Church Conference.
Staff- Parish Relations – Oversees staffing arrangements and supports staff to ensure effective service.
Trustees – Maintain buildings and grounds in ministry-ready condition.
Stewardship and Finance – Prepares and submits budget to Church Conference, monitors cash flow, evaluates investments, seeks to establish faithful congregational giving patterns.
- Memorial and Honor Fund Committee – This committee is a ministry that connects wishes of persons wanting to remember a loved one or honor a person or a special occasion with the church needs by using donations in the service of the church.
Lay Leadership – Identifies, develops, deploys, evaluates and monitors non-staff leaders.
Administrative Council – Acts as executive agency of the congregation between Church Conferences.
These teams are part of the alternative structure developed at First Church. They are not required by the Discipline. Leaders and members of these teams are appointed by the Administrative Council.
Children’s Learning – Supports Christian education ministries to children and youth. Leader: Open.
Adult Learning — Supports Christian education ministries to adults. Leader: Jac Filer
Worship – Supports worship ministries. Leader: Open
Outreach – Supports efforts to bring the good news of Jesus to non-Christians.
Mission – Supports efforts to utilize the resources of First Church for those outside of First Church. Leader: Ben Botti.
Communications – Supports efforts to keep everyone in touch with what is going on at First Church.
Hospitality – Provides meals and other forms of refreshment for those who come to First Church.
